You’re a couple of years into your career and ready to move beyond ticket queues and bug lists. You want real product engineering, proper ownership, and a team that expects you to think, not just follow instructions.
This role is that step.
A growing Australian SaaS business building a real-time platform relied on by organisations that can’t afford downtime.
You’ll work with modern tooling, a tight engineering team, and a founder who still cares about good code. No corporate theatre, no layers of middle management
You’ll join a small team delivering new features and improving a complex event-driven system. Your work will ship fast, be visible, and actually matter.
Your work will include:
Designing and building product features end-to-end
Developing and owning RESTful APIs
Working across a modern .NET 9 / React / Next.js stack
Contributing to architectural discussions and implementation choices
Writing clean, testable code and participating in code reviews
Collaborating closely with senior engineers and the engineering manager
You’ll work with (and learn more of):
Backend: C#, .NET 9, Entity Framework
Frontend: React.js, Next.js, TypeScript/JavaScript
Data & Infra: PostgreSQL, Redis, Elastic Stack
Platform: Azure, Docker, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines
Distributed and event-driven patterns
You don’t need to know it all - curiosity and the willingness to grow matter.
3–5 years experience as a software engineer
Experience building or supporting SaaS or cloud-based products
An interest in distributed systems and how things work under the hood
Ability to write clean, maintainable code with tests
Someone who wants involvement, not just tasks
Real product ownership
A team where you’ll be heard
Modern tooling and engineering practices
Direct mentorship from experienced engineers
A genuine step up from early-career roles
